Jennica Hagberg
Jennica Hagberg of Niceville High School is the 2007 All Sports Association Female Scholastic Award Recipient. She has a 4.83 weighted GPA and will graduate in the top 1% of her class having made A’s in every class she has ever taken in school. She has received the School Board’s Anne T. Mitchell Award for County Honors for three consecutive years. She is a class officer, Student Government Association officer, member of the National Honor Society and FCA, as well as numerous other service organizations. She received the Class 5A Soccer Sportsmanship Award, was voted as the “Most Athletic” by her senior class members and was nominated for the Hugh O’Brian Leadership Award by her teachers.
Jennica is one of six National Female Finalists for the 2007 Wendy’s High School Heisman Award and represented the southeast at the awards presentation in New York City in December, 2007. The Wendy’s Heisman, like the All Sports Scholastic Award, is based on scholarship, athletics and citizenship. She has signed a letter of intent with Stetson University to play volleyball.
Jennica’s athletic accomplishments rival her scholarship and service awards. She is the Northwest Florida Daily News/All Sports Association Volleyball Player of the Year for two years and has been on the FSWA Class 5A All-State Volleyball Team for two years. She was named the MVP in the PSA Senior All-Star Volleyball game. Jennica was on the Northwest Florida Daily News/All Sports Association Soccer All-Area First Team for the past two years and second team for one year. She has represented our region at five National AAU Volleyball Championships and two Junior Olympic National Championships.
Matt Sanders
Matt Sanders of Crestview High School is the 2007 All Sports Association Male Scholastic Award Recipient. He has a 4.45 weighted GPA and will graduate in the top 3% of is class graduating Summa Cum Laude. As a College Board AP Scholar Recipient, he has earned 18 hours of college credit and has received the School Board’s County Honors recognition for three consecutive years. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has served as a Student Council Representative. He represented Crestview High and CHELCO as the Okaloosa/Walton County CHELCO Leadership Representative in Washington, D.C. He is an active member of his Youth Group at the First Baptist Church of Crestview and has been involved in numerous volunteer service projects.
Matt has participated in football, track, basketball and weightlifting while in high school but has chosen football for college by signing a letter of intent with Clemson University to play football. He chose Clemson over 17 other Division I school offers.
Matt’s athletic accomplishments are just as noteworthy as his scholarship and service awards. He is on the First Team Class 3A All-State Football Team. He is ranked as the #2 Offensive Guard of Florida, # 27 Offensive Guard Nationally and the #57 Florida All-Positions by Rivals, 2007. Matt is a member of the Northwest Florida Daily News “Dandy Dozen”, their Offensive Lineman of the Year and their 2007 Feature Player. He was selected as a member of Schumann’s Ultimate 100 athletes nationwide. He has capped his senior season by invitations to the Max Enfinger All-American Game, the FACA All-Star Game and playing in the Pensacola All-Star Game.
