The All Sports Association honored Baker volleyball coach Kathy Combest Oct. 26 during a pep rally at the school. Combest was honored with a plaque for her recent 500th volleyball victory as well as for the courage she has displayed during her battle with breast cancer.
“Coach Combest is a remarkable person and a great coach, and our organization wanted to recognize that,” All Sports president Gene Smith said. “She is an inspiration to her players and to the students at Baker High School. Five hundred victories is a great achievement. She is an institution in this area.” Combest has been coaching volleyball at Baker for 22 years. She is also the girls basketball coach.
